Clinical psychologist, Jackie Fleetwood has been practicing in private practice since for over 27 years. Jackie obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from The University of Pretoria, after completing her internship at 1 Military Hospital, Pretoria, in 1989. She is a registered with the Health professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and keeps up to date with her profession through CPD workshops and academic reading
Jackie’s philosophy is to take the challenges brought by the seasons of life as an opportunity for personal growth. She is dedicated to guiding her clients in acquiring emotional and life skills through developing insight and understanding, enabling them to grow towards a meaningful life. Her extended experience as a therapist has refined her approach and she draws upon various specialized therapeutic techniques, and matching it to the individual needs of her client. Her particular focus includes facilitating psychological adjustment in individuals with mood, anxiety and traumatic experiences. Jackie is a trained IMAGO therapist, who enjoys working with couples. Children are close to her heart as she enjoys teaching them life skills through various forms of therapy. Jackie is fully bilingual and consults in Afrikaans and English.
In 2011, Jackie founded Hometree Therapy Centre, bringing together therapists with diverse cultural backgrounds and a multitude of specialized skills, and sharing the values of integrity to assist all people within the community.
Jackie is of the opinion that creating awareness concerning psychological issues is a necessity and enjoys giving seminars on various topics as her contribution to society. In addition, Jackie loves working in a creative way and has developed and presents various workshops.
On a more personal level, Jackie and her husband, Matthew are parents to eight children; she embraces the blessing and fullness of having an extended family. She enjoys her free time pottering around her garden, painting, listening to classical music and reading.
